Traveling Superintendent
Job Description:
At Jaco, our traveling superintendents play a crucial role throughout all phases of the construction process. Their involvement often begins during the preconstruction and design phases of our projects, where they work closely with clients, designers and the Jaco estimating team. Once a project enters the construction phase, the superintendents are responsible for the day-to-day operations at the construction site.
Our traveling superintendents are team players who are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure our projects are successful.
Jaco’s mix of work is diverse, as is our project size: hospitality, multi-family, retail, healthcare, higher education and recreation/entertainment, with project sizes ranging from $2M to $80M. Our construction footprint is nationwide, and we are licensed or authorized to work in over 40 states.

Responsibilities:
- Willingness to travel: 100% (Required)
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of construction sites
- Coordination and oversight of project on-site from groundbreaking to turnover
- Supervise subcontractors and manage construction schedule
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
- Be a champion for safety and compliance; understand and enforce OSHA regulations
- Ensure site security and safety
- Read and interpret plans, specifications and shop drawings
- Document daily activities, safety inspections, weekly coordination meetings, SWPPP actions
- Drive efforts to increase efficiency and profitability
- Take pride in providing a quality product to the client
Qualifications:
- Effective communicator, problem-solver and team-player
- Highly motivated and organized go-getter
- Ability to work with current construction technology (Procore, project management software platforms, scheduling platforms, daily report tracking, etc.)
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a superintendent
